LESCO suspends installment facility on current electricity bills

    Published on

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has launched a recovery campaign against defaulting government and private departments and, as part of the move, has suspended the facility of instalments on current electricity bills.

According to sources, consumers will now only be eligible for instalments on outstanding arrears, while current monthly bills must be paid in full.

NEPRA regulations allow consumers to avail instalments only twice a year, a policy that will now apply strictly under the revised directives.

Sources also informed that in order to achieve the recovery targets, connections of the consumers failing to pay their bills were being severed.

LESCO, they added, had decided not to restore connections until the payment of arrears.
