IT major Infosys has rolled out an average performance bonus payout of 65 per cent for eligible employees for the fourth quarter of FY25, Moneycontrol has reported citing sources. The payout is notably lower than the previous quarters — 80 per cent in Q3 and 90 per cent in Q2 of FY25.

The bonus, which applies to employees in Band 6 and below — primarily junior and mid-level staff — will be processed in the May 2025 payroll cycle. Payout percentages vary based on individual performance ratings, ranging from 0 per cent for “Needs Improvement” to 83 per cent for those rated “Outstanding”.

In an internal communication viewed by Moneycontrol, the company wrote, “Amidst the complex macro-economic environment in Q4, we remained client-focused and responsive to market needs.”

The development comes as Infosys reported a 12 percent year-on-year drop in net profit to Rs 7,033 crore in Q4FY25, falling short of the Rs 7,278 crore consensus estimate. For FY25-26, the company also issued a conservative revenue growth forecast of 0–3 per cent in constant currency terms.

According to the report, an employee, requesting anonymity, said: “It is less, quite less.”

Infosys’ decision reflects broader trends in the IT sector, where companies are grappling with muted client spending and slower deal cycles due to persistent global macroeconomic uncertainty.

Earlier, Infosys’ competitor, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), also reportedly reduced quarterly variable allowances for senior employees for the January-March quarter. This marked the third consecutive quarter of cuts, with senior staff receiving only 20–30 per cent of their QVA in Q4FY25. In the previous quarters, 60–80 per cent of variable pay had been deducted, even for those adhering to company work-from-office guidelines.
