Chris Broussard rips into John Harbaugh for Ravens’ loss, calls for firing of long-time HC

The Baltimore Ravens’ playoff hopes took a major hit in Week 16 with their loss to the New England Patriots. The Ravens gave up a significant lead in the game and are now on the brink of elimination from playoff contention.

Chris Broussard is livid and ripped into the Ravens.

“They just find a way to beat themselves. I’m spiritually done with them this year.”

“I don’t, I don’t like saying coaches should get fired or whatever, but I just think it’s time for a change. John Harbaugh has been there 18 years. If Andy Reid can get fired, if Tom Landry can get fired, if Bill Belichick can essentially get fired, then I’m sorry John Harbaugh can get fired. They just need a new voice. I think they need something fresh in that building, and it’s time you.” said Broussard on First Things First.

The Baltimore Ravens appointed John Harbaugh on January 19, 2008. Harbaugh joined after spending almost a decade with the Philadelphia Eagles as a special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.

Harbaugh has enjoyed an impressive tenure as the Ravens’ head coach. He’s led the franchise to one Super Bowl triumph, 12 playoff berths, and numerous winning seasons. However, his coaching has come under question in the current campaign.

John Harbaugh unbothered about Ravens job security

John Harbaugh spoke to the press on the Monday after their Week 16 loss to the New England Patriots. He was asked about his job security and how the team can make the playoffs after a string of uninspiring results.

“I try to do the job, not try to keep the job. My focus has been for the last 18 years here, and the last 41 years in coaching, to try to do the best job I can today and fight as hard as I can so the guys have the best chance to be successful today. And anything after today.”

“I’m not thinking about it because it’s not given for us to think about.”

According to ESPN, the Ravens entered the 2025 season as the betting Super Bowl favorite. However, they can be eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17 if they lose at the Packers on Saturday or the Pittsburgh Steelers win at the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Furthermore, this is the first time since 2015 that the Ravens are playing in December with a losing record. They have their work cut out to finish this season with a winning record.
