Russo helped Arsenal win the Champions League in May and scored for England in the Euro 2025 final in July as they successfully defended their title.

She said: “I’m still so hungry for more success and I know that’s shared by everyone here at the club. I can’t wait to get started this season.”

Russo scored 12 goals in 21 Women’s Super League games last season, sharing the Golden Boot with Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw.

Russo was nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or and named in the Professional Footballers’ Association and the Uefa Champions League teams of the year.

Arsenal head coach Renee Slegers said: “Alessia is a really important part of our group and I’m so pleased that she has signed a new deal here.
