5 symptoms of a damaged liver due to Diabetes

    Published on

Jaundice is one of the most obvious signs of liver trouble. It happens when bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced during the breakdown of red blood cells, builds up in your body. A healthy liver processes and removes bilirubin, but a damaged liver cannot do this efficiently.

This causes your skin and the whites of your eyes to turn yellow. People with diabetes who develop jaundice should seek medical attention immediately, as it indicates serious liver dysfunction. However, it needs to be kept in mind that diabetes is not the only reason for jaundice and can occur in non diabetic people too, even infants.
